A week of football in the books means a week of knee-jerk reactions. Naturally, it’s best if we gave our insights on some of these.
Overreaction – The Rams aren’t what we thought they were
LA was kicked in the face by a Fred Warner-sized kangaroo. Matt Stafford never got going, and Myles Garrett had Tony Snell stats. However, there’s real merit to the sleep schedule and jet lag they had. On top of that, Shanahan’s team from Santa Clara has McVay’s number. Don’t let this sway you from the fantastic season this team will have.
Proper Reaction – The Ravens will be a juggernaut
Derrick Henry’s recovery routine needs to be studied and applied to every professional athlete on the planet. It’s truly unbelievable how dominant he still is. The offense hummed, totaling over 500 yards versus a solid Colts defense, while Lamar looked effortless doing it. I’m really looking forward to the AFC North race between the Ravens and Bengals.
Overreaction – The Chiefs are back
Kenneth Walker has to be the answer to Pat Mahomes’ prayers. The ability to run the ball at such an effective clip will make his life infinitely easier. That said, I don’t think the Chiefs are necessarily “back”. They’ll be good, but I still expect a year or two before they’re the Chiefs we know. Outside of the Kelce 60-yard play, they only had 120 yards through the air. Additionally, Nix and Webb had a terrible game. Looking at the coverages and film, there were a lot of plays left out on the field. Expect Sean Payton to have more influence in the play calling if this continues.

If you’ve absorbed our content, you know that there’s been a lack of belief in Trevor. Still, in his last 9 regular season games, he’s 9-0 while throwing for 22 touchdowns. The playoffs are still a question, but regular season T Law is what the Jaguars hoped for when they took him first overall.
Overreaction – Houston’s offense is fixed
To credit Houston, their offensive line is upgraded, and CJ Stroud played an excellent game. To counter, the Bills DB room is still a massive question mark. I anticipate Houston coming back down to earth in the next few weeks.
Proper reaction – The Chargers aren’t going to be very good
It may never happen for If-Man. Injuries, poor defensive play, and offensive line lapses consistently pop up for the Chargers. The offense only managed 268 total yards, while the defense got picked apart by a Jacoby Brissett-led team for 400 yards. By week 14, Herbert may be focused on wedding planning
